The moon phase is usually a complication reserved for expensive watches. The Mido Baroncelli Smiling Moon Lady M027.207.11.010.01 brings it to a slim 33mm steel watch, and does it with a wink: the phases of the moon appear in an aperture shaped like a wide, gentle smile.

A rotating disc shows the eight main phases of the moon against a starry sky, set into a classic grained white dial with a blued seconds hand. The polished case is only about 7.2mm thick, and the seven-row steel bracelet drapes smoothly around the wrist before closing with a push-button folding clasp. The design follows the Baroncelli's rounded, classical lines, inspired by Milan's Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

Inside is Mido's Caliber 72, based on the ETA A31.111, an automatic with up to 72 hours of power reserve, beating at 25,200 vibrations per hour. Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides covers the dial and the open caseback.
