A mechanical chronograph in a TV-shaped black PVD case is an unusual combination, and that is what makes the Mido Multifort TV Chronograph M049.527.33.081.00 so appealing. It looks like nothing else on the wrist and comes with both a bracelet and a leather strap.

Mido's TV-shaped watches date back to 1973, and the Multifort TV collection revived the shape in 2023. This chronograph version uses a 42mm black PVD case with a gray horizontally brushed dial, two subtly integrated counters and contrasting beige details. Mido's Caliber 60 automatic chronograph, fitted with a Nivachron balance spring, provides 60 hours of power reserve along with a date and small seconds. A screw-down crown secures 100m of water resistance, and the movement is visible through the see-through caseback.

At 14.3mm thick it is substantial, but the cushion shape wears comfortably, especially on the included leather strap.
