Before dive computers and professional saturation divers, the late 1950s were the era of the recreational skin diver, and Longines built a watch for them. The modern Longines Skin Diver brings that period piece back to life, and on a brown leather strap it becomes a vintage-flavored diver that is just as happy on dry land.

Reference L2.822.4.56.2 faithfully reproduces the fonts, textures and hands of the brand's original Nautilus Skin Diver, including the harpoon-wielding diver engraved on the screw-down caseback. The black dial and unidirectional bezel keep things simple, while the luminous triangle, indexes and hands stay readable in murky water. Power comes from the automatic caliber L888.2, which offers about 64 hours of reserve, a big improvement over the base ETA movement it is derived from.

The 42mm case is 13.75mm thick, topped with a domed sapphire crystal, and the screw-in crown seals it to 300 meters. Brown leather softens the tool-watch attitude and makes this the most casual, everyday member of the Skin Diver trio.
