Start with the bezel. It is oversized for gloved hands, unidirectional for safety and set with 120 clicks for precise timing, with a MaraGlo pip at zero. The big 46mm dial is filled with large geometric indices and broad hands, also treated with MaraGlo, so the elapsed time and current time remain readable as light drops off at depth. A screw-down crown protected by crown guards seals the case to 300 meters, and the sapphire crystal resists scratches from rocks and gear.

Movement reliability matters just as much below the surface. The Sellita SW600 b automatic inside, with 24 jewels and Incabloc shock protection, holds a 62-hour power reserve, and it is the first movement of its type in a Marathon SAR model.
