Charity watches can feel like an afterthought. The Oris Chronoris Movember Edition 2019 is the opposite: a fully realized retro design whose purpose is printed right on the back, supporting the Movember Foundation and its work on men’s health.

The Chronoris name comes from Oris’s experimental 1970s, when the brand built its first chronographs, and this 39mm edition channels that era’s bold, playful color sense. The black dial is warmed by rose gold-plated hour and minute hands and gold-toned indices, with an orange seconds hand for a flash of color. Turn it over and the screwed caseback is engraved with the Movember name and moustache motif. Oris contributes a share of the proceeds to the foundation, so the watch does a little good every time someone buys one.

Power comes from the Oris 733 automatic, a Sellita SW 200-1-based calibre with 26 jewels, a date at 3 o’clock and a 38-hour reserve. This set pairs a vintage brown leather strap embossed with the Movember moustache and a pin buckle with an extra striped NATO strap, so it shifts easily between dressed-up and weekend.
