The Junghans Pilot Chronoscope 027/3590.00 is the purist’s version: matte black dial, black riveted leather, a steel case and nothing else competing for attention. It descends from the chronograph Junghans built for German military pilots in the 1950s, and the clean bicompax layout keeps that functional spirit intact.
Large luminous numerals make it easy to read in low light, and the bi-directional bezel with luminous dot lets you mark a reference time without starting the chronograph. The self-winding J880.4 caliber provides about 38 hours of reserve, and the 43.3mm case stays water resistant to 100 meters.
