Black dial, black ceramic bezel and a flash of orange: the Mido Ocean Star GMT in reference M026.629.11.051.01 is the most purposeful-looking of the 44mm GMT models, and the orange accents make the second time zone pop the moment you look down.

The matte black dial carries applied indexes outlined in silver-tone metal, diamond-cut hour and minute hands and an orange-tipped seconds hand. Around the edge, the 24-hour scale is printed in orange to match the orange GMT hand, so reading home time is effortless. The unidirectional bezel uses a grooved black ceramic insert. Mido’s Caliber 80 GMT, based on the ETA C07.661, runs at 3 Hz with an 80-hour reserve, and its crown advances the local hour in one-hour jumps, the most convenient way to adjust a travel watch. The screw-down case back is engraved with world time-zone graphics.

The case alternates satin sides with a polished top, and the steel bracelet does the same with polished center links, giving it a little more shine in the evening.
