The steel-bracelet Spirit Pilot Flyback is a modern aviation chronograph with a mechanical soul. It looks crisp and contemporary, yet you wind it by hand and time events the way pilots did nearly ninety years ago, by tapping a single pusher to snap the chronograph back to zero and start it again.

Longines holds a patent for the flyback mechanism dated 1936, and the Spirit Pilot Flyback, introduced for 2025, is the brand's tribute to that invention. Reference L3.721.4.53.6 is driven by caliber L792.4, a hand-wound column-wheel chronograph with 23 jewels, a silicon hairspring and up to 68 hours of power reserve. It is certified as a chronometer by COSC, and a transparent caseback shows the column wheel in action.

A 39.5mm diameter and 13.4mm height keep it surprisingly compact for a chronograph, and the steel bracelet with push-piece folding clasp makes it a durable everyday choice. Gilt numerals with Super-LumiNova, a small seconds subdial at 9 and a 30-minute register at 3 keep the matte black dial easy to read, while the black ceramic bezel adds a countdown scale.
