A 44mm dive chronograph in solid titanium sounds like a contradiction until you put one on. The Mido Ocean Star Chronograph Titanium delivers the visual punch of a big sports watch with a lightness that makes it wearable all day, and its blue dial gives it a sunnier, more versatile personality than its blacked-out sibling.

Both case and bracelet are titanium, so the watch is resistant to corrosion and pleasantly light for its size. A ceramic bezel insert sits over a blue dial with chronograph counters, small seconds and a date display, all finished with Super-LumiNova on the hands. Inside runs Mido’s Caliber 60, an automatic chronograph derived from the ETA A05.H31, with around 60 hours of power reserve. A screw-down crown helps the case reach a 200-meter rating, so the chronograph is as comfortable timing a surface interval as a lap at the track.

The deployant clasp keeps the bracelet secure, and the titanium’s slightly darker gray tone pairs well with the blue.
