Not every Ocean Star needs to look like it just surfaced from a dive. The champagne Mido Ocean Star 39 keeps all the water-ready engineering while giving the dial and bezel a soft, golden warmth that makes it feel more like a refined everyday watch.

This model joined the collection in 2024, the 80th anniversary of a line Mido has offered since 1944, and it introduced a new 39mm case to the family. The champagne dial is textured with a rippling relief meant to recall currents moving over sand, while the bezel gets a yellow gold-tone PVD finish. Super-LumiNova on the indexes and hands handles the dark, and the date window keeps it practical. The self-winding Caliber 72 movement, derived from ETA’s A31.111, beats at 25,200 vibrations per hour and runs for up to 72 hours, with a Nivachron hairspring helping it resist magnetic fields. Water resistance is 20 bar, secured by a screw-down crown and back.

At roughly 10.5mm thick, it is one of the slimmest Ocean Stars, and the steel bracelet has quick-release bars for easy strap changes.
