Part diver, part pilot's instrument, the Marathon CSAR WW194014SS-0104 is a 46mm Swiss automatic chronograph built for search and rescue crews who might spend the morning in a helicopter and the afternoon in the water. On a stainless steel bracelet with a black dial, it is one of the most capable watches Marathon makes.

CSAR stands for Chronograph Search and Rescue, and the watch was designed to be used for dives, SAR operations and flights alike. That dual role shows up everywhere. The chronograph, powered by the legendary ETA Valjoux 7750, times flight legs, fuel intervals or any task that runs longer than a minute, while the unidirectional 60-minute bezel handles dive time. A 1/100-minute scale helps with decimal timing, and day and date at 3 o'clock keep you oriented on long deployments. Tritium on the markers and hands, plus MaraGlo on the subdials, bezel pip and seconds hand, keeps the dial readable in a cockpit at night or deep underwater.

All of it lives in a 316L stainless steel case rated to 30 ATM, a figure that is rare for a mechanical chronograph, with a screw-down crown, sapphire crystal and an oversized bezel you can turn with flight or dive gloves.
