That flyback trick is a Longines specialty. The company patented a flyback chronograph in 1936, when such timers were vital cockpit tools. Today reference L3.821.4.53.6 uses caliber L791.4, a self-winding chronograph with a column wheel for crisp pusher feel, a silicon hairspring for magnetic resistance and 68 hours of reserve. It is COSC-certified, and the movement is on show through a sapphire caseback.

The bracelet version is the most rugged configuration. Combined with a screw-in crown, 100 meters of water resistance and a scratch-resistant ceramic bezel insert, it is ready for travel, sport and daily wear without fuss. The 42mm case and 17mm height give it bold wrist presence, best suited to medium and larger wrists.
