Smaller wrists rarely get the most interesting dials, but the Oris Aquis Date Upcycle 36.5mm puts one of the brand’s most original ideas into a compact, easy-to-wear diver.

Its dial is made from recycled PET plastic bottles, and the flakes settle differently in every piece, leaving a multicolored pattern that will never be repeated on another watch. It is part of Oris’s “Change for the Better” effort to tie its products to ocean and environmental causes, and it gives the watch a playful, painterly character that a plain lacquered dial cannot match.

Despite the smaller footprint, reference 01 733 7770 4150-Set gives up nothing in capability. The stainless steel case is water resistant to 30 bar (300 meters), the crown screws down, and a unidirectional bezel with a grey ceramic scale handles dive timing. Luminous hands keep it readable in low light, while the Oris Calibre 733 automatic, a Sellita-based Swiss movement, provides 41 hours of reserve. The steel bracelet tapers to an 18mm fit and closes with a folding clasp.
