The Marathon OSAR-D carries one of the most authentic backstories in modern tool watches. Its ancestor, the SAR-D, was issued to Canadian Search and Rescue Technicians in the early 2000s and launched Marathon's SAR diver line. The 46mm OSAR-D WW194037SS-2004 carries that story forward in a large black-dial Swiss automatic on a stainless steel bracelet.

Marathon has deep roots in service watches. Founded in 1904 and still family-owned, the company supplied its first military order to the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1941 and furnished field watches to Allied forces during the Second World War. Its SAR divers were developed to Canadian Government requirements for search and rescue, with features shaped by the field: bezels big enough to operate with gloves, high-torque hands, and screw-down crowns sealed for 300 meters. In 2024 the company re-engineered the OSAR-D, and in 2025 it added this 46mm size for larger wrists.

The 46mm model also introduced a new heart to the series, the Sellita SW600 b, with 24 jewels, Incabloc protection and 62 hours of reserve. The black Type I dial wears MaraGlo on its large indices, hands and bezel pip, with a 1.5x cyclops over the date at 3. The brushed 316L case is 17mm thick and 55mm lug to lug, with 22mm lugs and a stainless steel bracelet.
