In the 1950s Junghans built a pilot chronograph for the newly formed Bundeswehr, and that watch is the root of the Pilot Chronoscope 027/3492.00. This 2024 version gives the formula a richer finish: a domed, matte dark green dial that deepens toward the edge, with beige lacquered counters for a soft panda contrast.
The satin-finished steel case measures 43.3mm, and its bi-directional bezel has twelve concave notches that echo a 1950s Junghans model. Inside, the self-winding J880.3 runs about 42 hours with the chronograph stopped. A dark green and black riveted strap finishes it with vintage character.
