For a #tide that leans more outdoors than beach, the green Maurice Lacroix AIKON #tide 40mm is a good choice. The green case and dial on a black rubber strap look rugged and earthy, but it is light and comfortable enough to forget you are wearing it.
The case material is the story here. #tide is a composite of upcycled ocean-bound plastic and glass fiber, and Maurice Lacroix says it recovers about 17 plastic bottles for every watch. Despite the eco-friendly build, the specs are serious. You get a flat sapphire crystal, a screwed crown and caseback, 100m water resistance and a Swiss quartz movement, all wrapped in the six-claw AIKON shape that started with the 1990s Calypso. The strap changes without tools, too.
