Built to the MIL-S-46383B military specification, the one-piece ballistic nylon passes under the case for added security and offers the extra reach needed to go around a jacket cuff, a dive skin or a broad wrist. That over-the-sleeve style is a long-standing pilot's tradition, and it makes the watch easy to check without pushing back layers.

The watch under the strap is the first Steel Navigator ever fitted with a self-winding movement.
