description
The Mido Multifort Gent M005.430.22.031.80 is proof that a value-driven Swiss automatic can still feel special. Its silver dial is decorated with Côtes de Genève striping, a finish usually reserved for movement plates, and rose gold PVD accents on the case and bracelet add warmth to the 42mm steel design.
The Multifort was Mido's breakthrough in the 1930s, one of the first watches that was anti-magnetic, water resistant, shock resistant and self-winding all at once. Mido links the collection's look to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and the dial's parallel stripes echo the bridge's steel structure. Inside today's version is Caliber 80, based on the ETA C07.621, which delivers up to 80 hours of power reserve, so it can sit on a dresser from Friday evening to Monday morning and still be running.
A day-and-date window at 3 o'clock adds everyday usefulness, and the open caseback shows the movement at work.
