The Out of Order Shaker Automatic GMT "Cosmopolitan" features a case (40 mm x 13.08 mm) crafted from 316L stainless steel with an exclusive and patented OOO® aging process.
The Cosmopolitan lives up to the name as a great American classic and perhaps the most fashionable and "anytime cocktail" on the menu. It’s rise to fame began in 1996 when the singer Madonna was photographed at the Rainbow Room in New York holding a Cosmopolitan, and it’s since become a cult cocktail thanks to the American TV series Sex and the City. However, its true origin is still uncertain. The most likely version would trace its creation to Miami’s South Beach at the hands of Cheryl Cook, bartender at The Strand back in the 1980’s.
This model is equipped with an automatic movement with GMT function, the Japanese-made Seiko NH34a.
The drink was mentioned by the famous Cosmopolitan magazine, which inspired the name. Also called simply the Cosmo, this fresh but warming drink with its pink, cranberry-induced hue, is fragrant and elegant, perfect for the fairer sex. Served in a sleek martini glass as an aperitif or after dinner, it’s a balanced and aromatic combination of sweetness and tartness. The dial of the Out of Order® Cosmopolitan could therefore only take up the delicious colors of cranberry juice and lime while the caseback offers a laser-engraved reproduction of the cup used to serve it framed by a multitude of cranberries.
Under the domed sapphire crystal insert of the 60-click bidirectional rotating bezel you’ll find internal numbering printed in Superluminova®, amplifying its brightness making the time readable even in total darkness.
